JCPenney Life Insurance, later known as Stonebridge Life Insurance Company, was merged into Transamerica in 2015.
Founded in 1906, Transamerica has become one of the world’s leading financial service companies. In 1999, it was acquired by the Aegon Group, a leading international life insurance, pension, and investment company based in the Netherlands.
Transamerica is headquartered in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and has offices in the states of Maryland, Colorado, Pennsylvania, New York, Georgia, Texas, and Florida.
JCPenney/ Stonebridge offered:
- Universal, and,
- Variable universal life insurance, as well as coverage for private medical and dental needs.
One of their most popular products was the final expense policy with a guaranteed cash value that allows beneficiaries to cover funeral and burial expenses.
The guaranteed issue life insurance plan is now offered through Transamerica.
If you had a policy with JCPenney Life Insurance or Stonebridge Life Insurance, it was automatically transferred to Transamerica when it acquired Stonebridge in 2105.
According to Transamerica, you don’t need a new policy and there are no changes either to your coverage or benefits.
Although Transamerica no longer offers online enrollments for former JCPenney customers, if you still have your old insurance policy, you should be able to manage your account online.
In case you don’t have your policy number, you are unable to access your account, or if you have any questions regarding your old policy, you can call Transamerica toll-free at (888) 272-9272.
You can also click the link to Send an Email at the bottom of the contact page and fill out the form. Transamerica will send you the policy number or request additional information within 2-4 business days.
