Who Is Life of Georgia Insurance?

Life Insurance Company of Georgia, also known as Life of Georgia Insurance, was founded in 1891 under the name Industrial Aid Association. 

It used to be one of the largest diversified financial services organizations in the world, providing a comprehensive mix of products including life insurance. 

In 1903 the company’s name was changed to the Industrial Life and Health Insurance Company. It became the Life Insurance Company of Georgia in 1947.

Finally, in 2005, ING sold the Life Insurance Company of Georgia to Jackson National Life Insurance Company. 

Jackson National Life Insurance Company was founded in 1961 in Jackson, Michigan. It initially offered term life insurance as an affordable alternative to the popular whole life policies at the time.

In the 1990s, Jackson began selling annuities which eventually became the entire focus of the company. 

Although it did start as a life insurance company, today Jackson National is a leading provider of retirement solutions and no longer sells life insurance policies.

Jackson National Life is an indirect wholly owned subsidiary of British insurance company Prudential plc, although it continues to operate as a separate organization.

Jackson National is one of the industry leaders in the areas of fixed, indexed, and variable annuities. 

The company operates in 49 states and the District of Columbia, while its subsidiary Jackson National Life Insurance Company of New York markets products in the state of New York.
