What is National Response Center Senior Benefits Department?

The National Response Center Senior Benefits Department is a direct mail company based in Atlanta, Georgia.

It sends out mailers to senior citizens informing them about new funeral benefits that they are entitled to.

Those who qualify can allegedly get up to $35,000 tax-free as part of the program. The card provides no further explanations and no details about the benefits.

The color-coded letters from National Response Center Senior Benefits Department look like they are coming from the government.

The mailers are marked as state specific and time sensitive. Further, they come with a warning about a $2,000 fine or 5 years imprisonment for anyone who obstructs the delivery of the letter.

What’s more, the name of the company who is sending out the letters is very similar to EPA’s National Response Center.

This is an actual federal government agency center for reporting on oil and chemical spills that it has nothing to do with providing funeral insurance.

Lastly, the small print at the bottom of the postcard indicates that the sender is not affiliated with or endorsed by any government or Medicare program.

If they want to find out how to qualify for this plan, recipients are asked to provide their personal information including their name, date of birth, gender, phone number, and occupation.

Their spouse’s information is also required. They must sign the flyer and return it to the sender within five business days.

What happens when you send the card back?

National Response Center Senior Benefits Department buys consumer lists from data providers.

It then processes mail and generates leads on the behalf of insurance agents in different states.

This is one of many different ways in which insurance agents market to senior citizens to help them find life insurance products that best suit their final expense needs.

If you sign and send back the card you received from National Response Center Senior Benefits Department, you are giving permission to life insurance agents in your state to contact you about their products.

You can expect agents to call you to book an appointment or even show up at your door and try to sell you final expenses policies.

National Response Center Senior Benefits Department maintains a Do Not Contact List. You can call the company at (404) 236-9002 and ask them to stop all future mailings from their clients.

Alternatively, you may want to register on the National Do Not Mail List to stop all unwanted direct mail being delivered to your home.
