About Choice Expense Life Insurance: How it Works
Right, before we get started, let me quickly explain how this review will work.
First, I recommend we watch the most common commercial one last time. Then, I’ll go through and explain specific parts within the video (using timestamps, so it’s easy to follow).
I’ll also cover some of the fine print issues that, like so many other commercials, appear here too.
Choice Expense TV Commercial:
Now, let’s break down the different parts of this commercial:
Call Now for Guaranteed Final Expense Coverage – Timestamp: 00:13
Take a look at the scrolling bar near the bottom of the commercial. There’s a list of states to… “call now for guaranteed final expense coverage.”
Now, this is a really interesting issue. Why? Because after this part of the video, it wouldn’t be unreasonable to assume that your final expense coverage is guaranteed.
But that’s not the case. As the old saying goes, if it’s too good to be true, it probably is… And you’ll find out very soon that certain restrictions do play a part here.
So stick with me! I’ll tackle this soon.
Final Expense Plans Offer Immediate Payouts – Timestamp 00:18
Reading the statement above, you probably think there’s NO waiting period enforced before you’re fully covered.
However, depending on your health, this may not be the case.
Yes, you’ll have immediate cover – but for only a fraction of your actual plan, which can take years before it comes into effect.
In short, there’s a type of final expense insurance known as “guaranteed acceptance” where if you die within the first two years from natural causes, your loved ones will only receive a meager amount of the death benefit promised. This usually totals any monthly premiums paid plus a small interest rate.
Here’s the catch. At this point, with Choice Expense Life Insurance, we don’t know yet whether the plan will offer full coverage or partial coverage.
Plans Start from as Little as $5 a Month – Timestamp 00:23
All this says is that the cheapest plan on offer costs $5.00 a month.
Many viewers assume that all plans will cost only $5.00 a month. But in truth, it always varies depending on your age, health, and how much coverage you ultimately get.
In my experience, on any plan that costs $5.00 a month, you’re probably only looking at around $1,000 in coverage. That’ll cover next to nothing for somebody in the 40-year-old range.
Honestly, for decent cover, you will have to spend a lot more than $5.00 a month.
If You’re Aged 50 to 80, Coverage Is Guaranteed – Timestamp 00:28
Here, at the very least, all that’s being offered is a guaranteed acceptance program. Which, as we’ve already mentioned, will enforce a two-year waiting period before cover for natural death comes into effect.
Otherwise known as “no-questions-asked programs,” these plans are only best for people with very, very poor health.
For instance, at my company, BuyLifeInsuranceForBurial.com, we have access to insurance carriers that may offer full coverage for natural and accidental death from day one. Even if you have a history of heart issues, diabetes, lung problems, cancer, or many other issues.
This means, if you’re eligible, there’ll be NO waiting period at all.
Unfortunately, with Choice Expense, it’s not clear whether they’ll be able to offer you a similar product.
They might. But, in my experience, many of these TV commercial insurance programs sometimes offer guaranteed acceptance plans even to the healthiest of people.
Chances are you won’t get the best deal available.
Plans Pay Up to $40,000 in Immediate Coverage, Over the Phone – Timestamp 00:32
This is the maximum amount of coverage you can get with the available carriers that Choice Expense has to offer.
But again, the commercial suggests that everybody will receive immediate coverage, which is technically true. Just remember that, as we’ve already discussed, immediate coverage doesn’t mean full coverage.
That will depend on your health and whether Choice Expense has access to the best insurance carriers available.
Over the phone means you won’t have to meet an agent in person. Honestly, this is super convenient and something that many agencies, including us at BuyLifeInsuranceForBurial.com, can do.
My Thoughts on Choice Expense
To sum up, I find the Choice Expense commercial unclear. Listening to the video, it’s not obvious exactly what type of final expense burial insurance you’ll be eligible for.
The fact guaranteed final expense coverage is mentioned several times implies that they must offer no-questions-asked policies. But this simply means you could be forced to wait several years before you’re fully covered.
Of course, the commercial states “immediate coverage” multiple times, but again, immediate cover from day one does not mean full cover.
Seeking a Second Opinion
The critical takeaway here is that ultimately you should be looking for the best plan for you and your family. Ideally, this means you want first-day full cover for natural and accidental death.
But, to do this, you need to work with a company that’s invested in finding you the right policy that matches your needs and budget.
And while no one can promise you first-day full cover, an organization like us, at BuyLifeInsuranceForBurial.com, can give you the best chance of success.
All I ask is that you let us run a quick, no-strings-attached quote for you – so that you can see what other options are available.
Unlike other major insurance firms, we’re Brokers. This means we can shop the major final expense carriers available, finding you a great combination of price and coverage.
