What Makes A Good Life Insurance Policy?
There are a couple of points I want to cover. The first and most important point is that the final expense plan must be affordable for your budget. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve come across people with life insurance that simply can’t afford the premium.
What they were sold by an agent wasn’t in their best interest. They’re actually paying more than they need to and have to drop it now or have to trade it out for something less expensive.
Luckily, I’m able to shop around and get the best plan, and I can help those people out tremendously.
However, there are a few people that aren’t so lucky because their health is bad and I can’t qualify them. The point is the best insurance policy is the one that’s there when you pass away. I can’t express enough how important this is!
My second point is you want to make sure that you look around and get the plan that gives you the best value of coverage. What I mean by that is there are many plans out there, especially on TV, all that junk mail you get constantly. I’m sure you’re at home nodding your head because you’ve seen what I’m talking about.
These plans usually make you wait two years for coverage or actually go up in price and then terminate at a future date. Believe it or not, these are brand name companies like AARP or Colonial Penn.
The thing is you don’t want a plan that gives you low-quality coverage. The best policy to get is the one that’s going to do the job for the least amount of money but won’t shortchange you in the end.
Are There Other Options?
I work with people like yourself that are looking for that. It’s very easy to find, and it’s not a very overwhelming process.
It just takes a few minutes to figure out basic information and then to give you a rundown of what your options are.
The other aspect is to make sure that you’re working with an independent agent. There are a lot of agents in the burial insurance business that sell final expense policies. They’re called captive agents, which is insurance lingo meaning they only represent one company.
Now you might be thinking, well, what’s wrong with that?
The problem is that one company has only one set of rules for underwriting, meaning how they look at your health, and only one set of rules for pricing. One particular company that’s most popular has the highest prices and the worst underwriting.
What happens is you may take a plan out that doesn’t give you the most comprehensive coverage, the best value for your dollar that you pay into your premium, and you may not be fully covered.

Use An Independent Agent
You want to work with an agent that’s going to help you get the most bang for your buck. This isn’t an investment in a typical sense. This is a plan of action to cover yourself with the best value of coverage at the lowest price. Independent agents, like myself, represent multiple companies and they can do that easily.
