In This Article, I Will Describe The Likelihood Of Qualifying For Burial Insurance With A Cystic Fibrosis Diagnosis
The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation defines cystic fibrosis (CF) as a “progressive, genetic disease that causes persistent lung infections and limits the ability to breathe over time.” Cystic fibrosis causes a progressive build-up of mucus in the lungs, pancreas, and other organs. This mucus build up clogs airways and causes bacterial infections, leading to lung failure.

Case Study Examples
Replacing income with insurance
My client, Mr. Bing reached out to me just after his 60th birthday. He wanted to make sure that his wife would be covered in the case that he passed away. He knew that she was dependent on his income, and he didn’t want her to be put in a situation where she might have to change her lifestyle if he were to pass away prematurely.
He did have one complication. Mr. Bing had a history of heart problems. Most recently, he had a heart attack about three years ago. He also had stints and was on blood thinners to prevent any further problems from occurring. Mr. Bing worried that his health condition would be an obstacle to getting the insurance he needed to replace his income for Mrs. Bing.
Luckily, he reached out to us at Buy Life Insurance for Burial. Despite his heart-related medical issues, we were able to shop the different burial insurance companies available to him until we could approve him for first day full coverage. The Bings were so happy to know that his income would be replaced in the worst case scenario. And, he was glad that both he and his wife had peace of mind knowing she would be financially protected if he were gone.
If you are in a similar situation, consider reaching out to Buy Life Insurance for Burial. We can’t promise the same outcome, but I can promise that I will work just as hard for you. Need enough for burial plans
The average price of a burial ranged between $7,000 to $12,000 in my client’s area. Ms. Katie, age 66, knew that $7,000 was on the lower side of what she would be expected to pay, so she reached out to us to see if she could get coverage to cover all the facets involved in a basic burial.
She didn’t want her burial fees to be put on her children, and she felt that getting burial insurance was the right way to go. Ms. Katie did have one problem that showed up on her medical assessment. She was diagnosed with COPD. Previously, she heard that other’s who shared her condition struggled to get the coverage they needed because of their diagnosis, which is why she reached out to me for help.
Because she worked with Buy Life Insurance for Burial, we were able to get her first day full coverage. We did this by shopping around the most competitively-priced companies to look for a plan that best fit her burial insurance needs.

Qualifying For Burial Insurance With Cystic Fibrosis
Truth be told, there is a level of difficulty in qualifying for burial insurance with a cystic fibrosis diagnosis.
However, what I will attempt to do is describe the potential opportunities for coverage, based around age and “alternative” burial insurance options.
Age Of Applicant – Younger Than 18
Many burial insurance companies flat-out decline youngsters with a cystic fibrosis diagnosis if they are under 18 years of age.
If this is the case you find yourself in, here’s what I’d consider doing.
Buy A Policy On The Parent – Get A Child Rider On The Kid
I would attempt to find a life insurance company that would insure the parent, and pick up the child with cystic fibrosis as a “child rider.”
A child rider is an “add-on” policy to the parents that insures the child.
In some cases, you will find easier underwriting with child riders, and may be able to get your kid with cystic fibrosis approved for coverage.
Typically, the rider amount of coverage is small. But if you believe in life insurance like I do, then you know something is always a lot more than nothing.
Coverage At Work
Make sure you max out your allowable life insurance coverage on dependents at your worksite.
Many times, you can get cheap, “guaranteed issue” coverage on dependents.
This means that the insurance carrier is required to cover no matter the circumstances of the applicant’s health.
Twenty-Five Or Older
A few select guaranteed-issue burial insurance companies may qualify a cystic fibrosis applicant for life insurance coverage.
Keep in mind that guaranteed-issue is different for burial insurance than through the coverage one would get at the worksite.
This coverage most likely will make the applicant wait between 2 and 3 years until the coverage is in full effect. The length of wait depends on the carrier selected.
Story From The Field
Today, I want to share with you a story from my first life insurance client.
Our story takes place back in 2011, and I went to go see Mr. Garcia. He was looking for life insurance, and I was excited to go have my first meeting with a client.
When I showed up at his house, his door was completely open. He was just sitting inside waiting for me, and Mr. Garcia’s home was quite interesting.
He had multiple fish tanks full of fish and a wasp nest. While the fish were beautiful to look at, the wasps made me a little uncomfortable, but I was here to do my job, and I persisted.
One of the first things that Mr. Garcia said to me showed me that he realized how important life and burial insurance was. He had mentioned that he didn’t want the same thing to happen to his children that happened to him with his father.
Then, he started to tell me a story, which I want to relay to you.
One day, Mr. Garcia’s father Sr. Garcia had asked all of his children to come over. Once they were there, Sr. Garcia told them he purchased a life insurance policy with Colonial Penn.
He said that it would cover all the costs of his burial when he passed away. Sr. Garcia also told his children that he didn’t want them to worry at all about coming up with funds to take care of his final expenses, which is why he took out this policy.
The Garcia family, while they didn’t like speaking on such a morbid topic, really appreciated their father’s forethought in this situation. They could tell that he cared about them, and he was doing what he could to protect them.
Sadly, only 12 months after this family meeting, Sr. Garcia passed away. It was a devastating shock for the whole family, but then, they remember that they had the policy.
They presented it to the funeral home, but somehow, the policy wasn’t enough to take care of the costs.
Mr. Garcia questioned, “What do you mean this doesn’t work?”
He didn’t understand why the policy wouldn’t pay. Everything his father told him made their family so assured that everything would be taken care of.
The policy stated that it provided $10,000 in coverage when Sr. Garcia passed away. Unfortunately, the funeral director had plenty of experience with this particular type of product, which is known as a guaranteed acceptance plan.
This product is designed with a two-year waiting policy, meaning that the full amount of coverage doesn’t come into effect until two years after it was taken out.
As a result, this meant the policy would only refund the premiums paid in (plus 7% interest) at that time, which only amounted to about $500, which was not enough to cover Sr. Garcia’s burial costs.
My client’s family wanted their father to have a quick and honorary service, so he and his brother both took out loans that would have serious financial repercussions for the next few decades of their lives.
Even though this was a terrible experience, it taught my client the importance of getting the right type of life and burial insurance. That is why he called a broker. Buy Life Insurance for Burial can shop around to see who is going to offer the best combination of price and coverage without forcing you into a two-year waiting policy.
I wanted to share with you my first interaction because it was a formative one for me. It reminded me that we help our clients out by offering them the best available opportunities for life insurance, unlike many agents who work for a single insurance company.
This is a tragic story with a good lesson. You don’t want the same thing to happen to your children. You don’t want them to have a false sense of security just to have that ripped away from them when you pass away. Sadly, this is a common occurrence, but it doesn’t have to happen to you or your family.

Why People Buy Burial Insurance – Top 5 Reasons
1. People can afford burial insurance
When you work with a broker like us here at Buy Life Insurance for Burial, we are able to shop around the best life insurance companies to look for policies that fit with your specific budget.
We can tailor a policy to meet your life insurance needs. This is great for those who live on a fixed income and want coverage for their burial, cremation, or other final expenses.
2. People’s rates never increase
This applies to burial insurance plans that have whole life insurance elements. When these elements are present, it means that you will always be paying the same rates on your coverage, no matter what.
These rates cannot increase, not even due to age or health. Again, many people on a fixed income love to look for burial plans like this because they don’t even have to worry about what will happen if their insurance plan’s rates go up.
3. People cannot outlive their policy
Again, burial plans have a lot of unique qualities. One of them is that they are designed to be with you throughout your entire life.
Specifically, a correctly designed burial insurance policy will never cancel due to age or health.
This means, when you work with a broker like us, we can tailor your policy to fit your needs, your budget, and make sure you have it no matter how long you live.
4. People love to customize their policy
Since we have mentioned this pro in every other point, we decided to expand on it for #4.
When you work with us, we can customize your policy to fit your current life situation. Everyone is different, and they need different things.
For example, you may have an allergy and need to take the peanuts off of your salad. We here at Buy Life Insurance for Burial think that the same logic should apply to burial insurance plans.
Regardless of what you want the plan to cover, we are here to make the coverage work for you. We take your budget, goals, age, health, and other factors that are important to you into account when shopping for and designing a burial insurance plan.
5. People love their families
Many people want burial insurance for their family’s peace of mind. They don’t want their family to have to worry about paying for their final expenses. And, with a burial insurance plan, they don’t have to.
You know that burial or cremation expenses are pricey, and you want this all to be taken care of for your family. You want them to be taken care of even after you are gone. A burial insurance policy can do that for you and give you the comfort in knowing your final expenses will be covered.
I am happy to assist in finding a carrier that would approve coverage on a guaranteed issue basis.
